They added lots of personal touches that honored their Latinx roots, late loved ones, and above all else, the beautiful blended family they're raising together.

They knew they wanted every part of their wedding day to be fun, meaningful, and an authentic reflection of who they are and what matters most to them, their family. So it was important that their bilingual wedding ceremony captured their love and devotion for each other in a way that felt intimate, honest, and lighthearted. Just like them.

Mirtha and Jonathan met the fall of 2015, LITERALLY locking eyes from across the Bronx dive bar one Friday night. Neither of them wanted to go out that night, but thank goodness they did! Everyone else fell away while they danced bachata and got to know one another.

Since their kids are everything to them, they knew that if they were going to see where this spark would lead, their children would need to be one-hundred percent on board. For them, it was surprisingly natural to merge their worlds and when they did, they became this tight-knit blended family.

They wanted to include their children and honor their blended familia during their ceremony so they included a ring warming, which is a tender way to infuse those wedding rings with all the positive energy and hopes for the future from all their guests. Especially their kiddos! Many times, these rituals speak to the couples' future, their marriage, and all the things that they value in their day-to-day lives.

Excerpt from Ring Warming:

"You three are the greatest gifts of their lives so your love for them is really powerful! I want you to think about all the fun times you have together, as a family, all the moments where you laugh so hard your cheeks hurt, and all the times you didn’t feel good but still felt cared for and loved. I want you to imagine all the fun, happy, awesome things you want for your family. Make a wish IN YOUR MINDS AND YOUR HEARTS that it all comes true - that they enjoy the little things, like when they fall asleep in each other’s arms or eat dinner together or spend time with the coolest people ever - YOU THREE!"

It was the privilege of a lifetime getting to know Mirtha and Jonathan! Having the opportunity to marry these amores and celebrate their family, their journey, and their amor profundo was an absolute dream!

Kind Words from Mirtha and Jonathan:

"The excitement that I’m getting writing this review is indescribable! It takes me back to all the emotions I had during my ceremony, and we have Daniela to thank for that. It took me a long time to find an officiant that wasn’t the normal, mundane full religious officiant. Me and my husband's personality is outgoing, funny, romantic, and we wanted someone who represents us, and shows our guests our personalities. Daniela did just that, she’s all that and a bag of chips! Her personality from the 1st conversation was bubbly and always responsive! She got to know us, and it was like we had a best friend officiate our wedding! We loved our ceremony, everyone cried, laughed, screamed! Jonathan and I enjoyed it so much! Our children loved that Daniela involved them in the ceremony by having them bless our rings. Our kids cried!"
